Poetry for the Plains

Art without community is like a flame without oxygen. For those poets who want to ensure their work does not wither before it has a chance to bloom, for those admirers of poetry who recognize within themselves a longing for the good, the true, and the beautiful, the North Dakota State Poetry Society is your home.
Advocate
The NDSPS works to ensure that all North Dakotan poets have a voice, and we work with the state government to make sure that poetry cannot only survive but also thrive in North Dakota.
Foster
The NDSPS plans and facilitates a number of poetry events every year. This includes poetry workshops, poetry readings, book signings, and social events.
Publish
The NDSPS recognizes that while the simple act of creating poetry is a great good, having that poetry published so that it may be read and shared is also a great good. While the NDSPS does not yet host an official magazine, a variety of publishing projects are in the works with more to come.
